The Cleveland Darter Club All Star Team
is made up of Members of The Cleveland Darter Club [CDC]. Anyone may try out for the All Star Team. However, only members in good standing with
a valid current membership will be eligible to continue to Phase II (see below). A maximum of 30 men and 16 women
will make up the team. Each person who wishes to try out for the team must participate in Phase I qualifying.
Phase I Qualifying:
Each contestant is permitted 20 passes (each pass is the total of 3 darts thrown). Males must shoot a total of
at least 1,200 points to qualify and women must shoot a total of at least 800 points. A contestant may try out
as many times as he/she wishes - there is not a limit as to how many times a person may try to qualify for Phase
I. A portion of experienced players who achieve a minimum of 1,600 points (men) or 1,000 (women) in Phase I may
be granted handpick status. At the end of Phase I, and after handpicks have been removed from the lists, the top
35 men and the top 16 women will advance to Phase II.
Phase II Qualifying:
will take place on Sunday, September 11.
The Men's event will take place
at Slam Jams (24108 Lorain Rd.,
North Olmsted) Doors open at 8:30 am; Registration closes at 9:15 am; Play is scheduled to begin at 9:30 am.
The Women's event will take place
at Gunsleman's Park Tavern (21490
Lorain Rd., Fairview Park). Doors open at 9:00 am; Registration closes
at 9:45 am; Play is scheduled to begin at 10:00 am.
Men's Format
*: Round Robin (5 groups of 7, top 3 of each group make the team)
Women's Format
*: Round Robin (2 groups of 8, top 4 of each group make the team)
* "subject to change at director's discretion"
The Quad City Challenge:
The Quad City Challenge is an intense, competitive, and challenging event in which the best of the best from Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton
and Cincinnati compete against
each other for the honor of taking home the Quad City trophy. (Cleveland has won 13 out of
the last 15 years!) This event is always played on a Sunday (usually the
Sunday before Thanksgiving, after the Buckeye Open), in Columbus.
Each player receives a personalized CDC
All Star Shirt with a unique design for this year. Each team member is provided a one-night hotel stay in Columbus
as well as access to a social room. Each member is assigned to a team, which he/she will play with throughout the
day. Alternates may also be selected for the team.
Members will be expected to participate in fundraising efforts to defray the costs of this event.
