The Cleveland Darter Club is excited to once again present an opportunity for you to cash in on our Winter Leagues for a few more weeks before the season ends! Last year's Team Championships [Winter Tournaments] "in the bars" were a stunning success. Well over 90% of our league players "stuck around" to play in this series and win some cash. Once again, we are providing YOU, our Affiliate Member, with the chance to have TWO extra profitable dates to host these events in your bar. If you are interested in "cashing in" and are not familiar with last year's Lottery, please read the following information and the Lottery Rules. Due to the overwhelming popularity of this event, the Winter League Team Tournaments will again be played "in the bars". The format will be a Round 1 Playoff on Week #16. For Monday League teams, Round 1 (Week #16) will be on Monday, April 24th. If one of your teams is in 1st thru 4th place on Week #7 (week of Feb 20) then you should count on them playing at Home for Round 1 against their scheduled opponent. Round 2 (to determine Division Champs) on Week #17 will be on the following Monday, May 1st. Tuesday League just adds one day to each of those dates; April 25th & May 2nd. A Finals Championship will be on the weekend of Week #17 (May 7th for Tuesday League) and Week #18 (May 13th for Monday Lge {Summer League Folder Pickup is on May 6th) For a graphic rendition of the last 3 paragraphs click here. THE LOTTERY RULES have been mailed to all bars. A "web version" is here. Included in every envelope mailed to bars is one (1) ticket for each team playing out of your bar, and they are listed on the left side of the envelope. Following the team name is their league night; (M)onday or (T)uesday, and their division number. You can purchase as many tickets as you want for each division that you wish. Just circle the division you want on each ticket. Call our Office for more tickets to increase your chances to win; we'll mail them to you. Only 302 were printed, and 165 were initially mailed to 122 Affiliate Member bars. Most owners will never read the material sent to them, and will throw it away - along with any chance to win. If you do not have any Winter teams, and "INACTIVE" is printed, you are still a current Member and can still buy a chance at winning in the 2nd or 3rd Drawing (see The Rules for details). Use the enclosed postage-free envelope sent with your tickets to return your stubs and check for payment; $10 for each Division Playoff, $20 for each Finals ticket. You can follow the "odds" each week on the Weekly Standings Sheet that is mailed to you and posted here every Friday. HOW DOES THE WHOLE LEAGUE FIT IN THE BAR you may ask? As of Week #7, all Monday & Tuesday Lge Teams will be seeded for the Round 1 Playoff. The 1st Place team in your division on Week #7 will be scheduled to play the Last Place team in their division, at the Home Bar of the 1st Place team. 2nd Place teams will play the second-to-last place team, at the 2nd Place team's Home. In a standard 8-team division, the Top-4 teams at Week #7 will be scheduled to play at their Home Bars, at 8 PM, on Week #16, against the Bottom-4 teams. It's a lot of words, and it may be confusing, but don't worry. There will be more material sent to Captains over the next 2 months. By Week #12, even if they've been under a rock, they'll know where their team is scheduled to play on Week #16. AND, they'll know who they're playing. Top-seeded teams will have the Home advantage. Teams who win in Round 1 will play the following week, same time and same League Night. In other words, you, the bar owner, don't need to worry about how they're getting there. By March 28th your team captains will be able to tell you if they're playing in your bar for their Round 1. If they can't, HAVE THEM CALL US. ROUND 2, Week #17 playoff locations will be determined by Lottery. Your bar, and every other actively sanctioned bar in The Cleveland Darter Club will have an opportunity to buy chances at hosting Round 2 matches. The four (4) winners of Round 1 in each division will play at whichever bar wins the lottery for that particular division. THE FINALS will also be determined by Lottery. Every sanctioned Affiliate Member of The Club that has a minimum of four (4) sanctionable dartboards and room capacity for 60 people is eligible to participate. There will be one for Monday & Tuesday League, so there are two chances to win. We shouldn't have to tell you that this amounts to a very good night at the register, and you will want to have an extra bartender on hand. THE PRIZE MONEY for the Team Tournaments totals $2,235 for Monday League and $2,190 for Tuesday League From the totals above, CASH PRIZES will be paid out at the Finals in the amounts of $1,860 for Monday League and $1,790 for Tuesday League. Other prize money for non-finalist teams will be mailed to Captains. |
