Lottery Rules for The Cleveland Darter Club
2006 Winter Tournaments

  1. Drawings will be held at a date and location to be published on The Cleveland Darter Club 2006 Winter League Standings Sheet.
  2. The 1st Drawing will be made for each League Division in which there has been at least one ticket purchased.
  3. The 2nd Drawing will be made from 1st Drawing losers, for each League Division in which at least one ticket has not been purchased.
  4. Finals Location Drawing is one time only and one bar cannot win both Finals events.  The Club reserves the right to refuse any Lottery entry for an Affiliate that does not meet minimum requirements for the Finals Tournaments (4 Dartboards, capacity for 60 people, open on Weekends).
  5. Each Affiliate is limited to one (1) winning ticket per League Night (Monday or Tuesday), in accordance with the following table, for each sanctionable dartboard in their establishment.

I.E. -  Your bar has 2 Monday League teams and 1 dartboard, and you buy a ticket for each division your teams play in and win both times, the 2nd winning ticket drawn will be discarded.  If you have 2 dartboards, you will host both Division Playoffs.  This does not apply to Finals Location lottery - only one draw will be made for each League night.
  6. In the event that there are not enough bars purchasing tickets to accommodate every division playoff, a 3rd Drawing from ALL tickets will be made, using the table below to prevent overcrowding.
  7. The League reserves the option to require any bar that it deems a potential for overcrowding to specify an "alternate location" if such a case occurs. "Overcrowding" is defined by current municipal fire code. If an "alternate" is not specified at least 3 weeks prior to the play off date, the League will choose one.

What to expect if you win a Division Playoff:

You will host the Round 1 winning teams [four teams for an 8-team division] at your bar on their designated League night on Week #17 of the Winter session.   For Monday League this would be May 2nd, Tuesday League will be May 3rd.

This should bring your establishment 4 teams (a minimum of 16 players) to compete in a Best-of-7 Single elimination competition. The winning team will be the Division Champion.  There is, of course, no guarantee that all 4 teams for each division will show up, but based on last year's turnout it’s almost a foregone conclusion.

What to expect if you win the Finals Drawing:

You will host the Champions from each division in a 1-day Single-elimination playoff for each skill level; Gold, Silver and Bronze on Saturday, May 13th for Monday Lge and Saturday, May 7th for Tuesday League, beginning at approximately 11 AM. Monday League will have 13 teams representing their divisions, and Tuesday League will have 12 teams. [An approximate total of 60-120 players, scheduled to play throughout the day to prevent over-crowding.]  You MUST have extra staff scheduled to work, NO entertainment or juke box or other scheduled event on that day if you win.  TRUST US, you won't need anything else!  Championship Prize money will be paid to the winners on-site, in CASH.

In addition, 25% of Finals Lottery proceeds will be spent in each winning establishment on food for contestants. This can include carry-out from the local pizza shop, etc.  For the volume of people and the atmosphere, you are required to have some food item available.  (Last year this was $120)

If you have any questions, please call or e-mail, or leave a message at our office.  We’ll return your call on the same weekday.

"Host" means that you will have your bar open and adequately staffed.  The actual tournament will be run by The Club.  Basically, you pour drinks and provide your menu if you have a kitchen available.
