| "The Big Kahuna Day" details
here.
The Cleveland Darter Club Board of Directors will review plans for a "Club" memorial event in Springtime. Thoughts & suggestions should be posted in the forum. If you have pictures of Pete that you would like included in a 'photo collage' CD that is being produced for a memorial and archive, please forward them here. If you don't have a digital (scanned, binary) image that you can email, please forward the photo to The Club Office and we'll scan and return it to you. Finally, if you can, please include a description of the picture(s) - date, place, any other particulars. Thank you. From the Week #8 Winter League Standings: Pete "Kahuna" Smolleck, CDC 1795, passed away at Jameson Hospital in New Castle, PA after suffering heart failure while at work. Pete was a Lifetime Member, held every single Club office, Distinguished Darter Award 1985, Golf Outing director, director of Extravaganza & Rock'n'Roll Classic, co-founded CDC Monday League, founded Wednesday League, three-time Club President... He was affectionately referred to as the Club's "resident pitbull". While his legacy would fill both sides of this sheet, contrary to what many have believed, Pete was not "The Cleveland Darter Club". The Cleveland Darter Club was Pete Smolleck. A Forum topic has been set up here for Members and friends who wish to post suggestions for The Cleveland Darter Club memorial for Pete, and any other thoughts or anecdotes that they wish to share. |
